One way to find the size that fits you best is to wrap a ribbon (or a measurer) around your chest, like you would with the sling and measure its length. The Maya wrap is designed to have a relatively long tail, to adjust for the growth of your baby and leave room for the front pocket. You need to make sure that there is enough room for the front pocket (it's about 6 inches deep) to go through the ring without getting cought or it will be very difficult to put your sling on.

Sling size is somewhat subjective, some people prefer a longer tail than others. Here's a couple of questions you can ask yourself to help your choice:

  • At what height would you like the pocket of the Maya wrap? A longer tail will also put the pocket lower and a little harder to reach.
  • Would you like to have enough tail to cover up your baby's head? For instance when you breastfeed or get out of the car in bad weather. A longer tail will help you do that
  • Do you want to share your sling with your husband, or someone of difference size than yours? You may want to compromise on a size that fits two in the family

The medium size fits many people, but taller individuals (more than 5'9") and large chested individuasl may be more comfortable with the Large size. Also, as baby grows he/she will need more length to adjust.
